Needing Encouragement?  Give It to Someone Else

The other day I was having a lot of self doubt regarding a goal of mine.

Do I really want to keep doing this? This is hard. It would be so much easier to keep things the same and not create this change.

My mindset was not in a good place.

Receiving Encouragement

That night, out of the blue, I received a text from a dear old friend offering me praise and encouragement.

It was so thoughtful and so lovely.

Her text gave me the nudge I needed to help me begin to shift my focus from self-doubt back to encouragement and inspiration.

It made me feel good.

This reminded me that I have the power to do this for myself.

I Gave Myself Encouragement

Because of my dear friend, I was reminded of the importance of being my own cheerleader.

I got up and went to the mirror. I looked into my eyes and gave myself a pep talk.

I spoke out-loud all the things I really needed to hear to get my focus off the self-doubt.

I spoke to myself like I would my daughter… with compassion and encouragement.

I reminded myself of the Big Why behind my goal and why all the discomfort I’m experiencing to reach my goal is worth it.

The shift in the way I felt was immediate.

I felt even better.

I Gave Encouragement to Someone Else

The next day I was thinking about how grateful I was to my friend and decided it was my turn to pass on the encouragement.

Another old friend who I hadn’t spoken to in years had been on my mind lately.

I decided to send her a voice text to let her know I was thinking of her.

I told her that I wanted her to know how much she inspires me and why.

I shared that I was hoping to provide her a little encouragement for the day.

I had not even sent the text and I already felt great.

It was crazy how encouraged I felt offering HER words of encouragement.

I felt AMAZING!

Go Give Someone What You Need

When I received encouragement from my friend it made me feel good.

When I spoke encouragement to myself I felt even better.

When I spoke encouragement to someone else I felt AMAZING!!

What are you needing right now?

Love? Appreciation? Forgiveness? Encouragement?

Whatever you are needing, don’t wait for someone else to give it to you.

Speak it to yourself and then go out and give it to someone else.

It is absolutely magical how you will obtain the thing you need by giving it to someone else.
