Ready to create a new healthy habit or break an unhealthy one?
We typically begin a journey toward a new health goal by making an action plan.
But I challenge you to start with your mindset first.
It’s so much easier to take action toward a new health goal if you get your energy lined up with someone who already has what you want.
Athletes utilize this tool all the time. They practice their sport ahead of time by sitting and visualizing making the shot, creating the play, or crossing the finish line.
They practice who they want to be ahead of time by using their imagination, generating helpful emotions and taking action from those helpful emotions.
Step One – Create the Healthier You In Your Imagination
Everyone has an imagination. Some of us just haven’t used it in a while. So bring it down, dust it off and let’s put it to use!
Take a minute, sit down, close your eyes and envision yourself as someone who has already obtained your health goal. Have fun with it. Make the vision as big as you’d like.
Who is she? What does she look like? How does she talk to herself? How does she spend her day? Who does she hang out with? What does she eat? Where does she go?
Try to get specific.
However, what is most important here is not the vision you are creating, but the feelings you are generating when you imagine her.
How does she feel?
She is most likely feeling positive, helpful emotions like Joy, Love, Freedom, Appreciation, Confidence, Empowerment, Optimism or Commitment.
Now it’s time to focus in on those feelings.
Step Two – Practice Feeling Like the Healthier You With Your Imagination
Our subconscious minds are unable to tell the difference between reality and something you imagine.
You are going to tap into this by taking at least five minutes to sit and pretend you are already in possession of what you are wanting.
Remember, the vision you create in your mind is not what is most important. What is crucial is the emotions you generate during your visualization.
The emotions you generate should be high vibration emotions that attract your goals.
Make these emotions the focus of your visualization, not the actual goal itself.
Feel the feels! Absorb the emotion. Sit with it. Enjoy it!
After you have sat with your empowered high-vibration emotions, it is time to take action!
Step Three – Practice Being the Healthier You With One Small Action
Now it’s time to start acting like your healthier you – today!!
Remember, the healthier you feels things like empowerment, joy, pride and confidence.
DO NOT skip Step Two!
Empowered, feel-good emotions are the fuel for your healthy action.
Taking action from this empowered mindset is where the change and growth happens.
Focus on one small thing you can do right now to move you closer to who you wish to be.
Take a 5 minute walk, eat a piece of fruit, skip dessert, it does not matter as long as you are doing it from the right mindset.
The question is not can you do it? The question is will you do it?
We all have the same 24 hours. How we use those hours is up to us. Either we can find a way or we can find an excuse.
